Personal Work: Japan
I produced a few documentary projects while at university and I’d also volunteered abroad a few times. A couple of years after graduating I wanted to combine the two and create some work for my portfolio.
Using Brighton volunteer agency Concordia, I went to Japan.
For two weeks working with local residents and international volunteers, our job was to build giant lanterns and help out for a festival in the Fukushima District town of Hanawa.
I also spent some time in Tokyo but I soon ran out of film.
All shot using a Nikon 35mm, a Mamiya RZ medium format camera and a bag of Fuji Provia slide film.
